چکیده
Type XI collagen has been associated with tumor fibrosis and aggressiveness in patients pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The propeptide on is released into the circulation after proteolytic processing at either amino acid 253 or 511. This allows for a noninvasive biomarker approach to quantify production. We developed two ELISA-based biomarkers, targeting enzymatic cleavage sites (PRO-C11-253 PRO-C11-511). In discovery cohort including serum from PDAC (n = 39, Stages 1-4), chronic pancreatitis (CP, n 12) healthy controls 20), PRO-C11-511, but not PRO-C11-253, was significantly upregulated CP compared controls. Furthermore, PRO-C11-511 levels >75th percentile were poor overall survival (OS) (HR, 95% CI: 3.40, 1.48-7.83). potential validated 686 PDAC. Again, high of (>75th percentile) OS 1.68, 1.40-2.02). remained significant adjusting clinical risk factors 1.50, 1.22-1.86). conclusion, quantifying predicts supports that important biology prognostic

The prognostic role of desmoplastic stroma in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is characterized by an abundant desmoplastic stroma. We examined the prognostic value of stroma density and activity in patients with resectable PDAC treated with surgery and adjuvant gemcitabine-based chemotherapy. FFPE-tissue from the pancreatectomy of 145 patients was immunohistochemically stained for haematoxylin-eosin and Masson's trichrome to assess...
متن کاملPotential prognostic biomarkers in pancreatic juice of resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
Despite potentially curative surgery pancreatic cancer has a dismal prognosis. Serum cancer antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9) correlates with tumor burden, resectability and survival in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Identification of novel biomarkers may facilitate early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and improve survival. Pancreatic juice is a rich source of cancer-specific proteins ren...
متن کاملPrognostic significance of tissue factor in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
Tissue factor (TF) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that plays roles in the blood coagulation and intracellular signaling pathways, and has also been suggested to modulate the biological behavior of cancer cells. In order to examine the clinicopathologic significance of TF expression in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, TF expression was determined by immunohistochemistry using a newly raised an...
